Greetings from IRIA HQ!

As you are aware that IRIA is the member of ‘FOMA’ (Federation of Medical Associations) which has been formed by IMA for saving medical profession from various challenges in different speciality associations. IRIA has accepted to be the member of FOMA provided the matter of PC & PNDT is not taken up till the eligibility criteria of doing Ultrasound is settled by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

The medical profession has been facing innumerable problems and hurdles in delivering our services to the society. The safety and welfare of medical fraternity is at stake. Therefore, it has been decided that all FOMA stakeholders shall participate in this IMA Satyagraha in a big way to show the strength and solidarity of medical fraternity.

Therefore, IRIA being part of FOMA has also decided to participate in this Satyagraha as a show of strength and solidarity of medical profession. The “Dilli Chalo - IMA Protest march is on Tuesday, June 6, 2017”. A massive march has been organized from Rajghat to Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on this day.

The IRIA expects its members to participate in this Satyagraha in following manner:

1. By not doing any clinical-radiology work from 10.00 AM to 11.00 AM on Tuesday 6th June, 2017.

2. To be a part of signature campaign of IMA. The link of the same shall be provided closure to the date.

3. Members can visit New Delhi and assemble for Satyagraha walk – “Dilli Chalo: IMA March”. This IMA March is being organized from Rajghat to Indira Gandhi Stadium (about 1 km). All associations are invited and expected to participate. Each association will march separately in a group with its own banners and placards. Each association can put its specific demands on the banners besides the common issues.

This will be followed by a program in Indira Gandhi Stadium from 11.00 AM till 02.00 PM. During this, each Association’s President will be given chance to speak on stage for about 10 min. The charter of demands of each association shall be read and clubbed. The participation of adequate media and VIP’s presence is being planned for maximum impact.

The members are requested to be a part of this movement in maximum possible strength to save the professional autonomy.

IRIA will not bear the Travel and Accommodation Expenses of the members attending the Dilli Chalo Satyagraha.
